Laura H
Practice Manager
Laura, a native of New Bern, has worked with Craven Animal Hospital, and now Felines First, for 14 years and has donned a variety of roles.
An enthusiast of continual learning, Laura relishes both practical knowledge and trivia. She enjoys a few hobbies such as crafting metal jewelry, obsessing over her cats, and has a deep love of the sea (pools, ponds, lakes and rivers), sand and sun. Her latest pastime involves creating and widely placing cat stickers throughout the hospital.
Karen B
Client Care Specialist
As one of our veteran employees, Karen has been with the Craven family for almost 8 years.

Karen was able to travel and experience several parts of the United States while her father served in the USMC for 33 years, including right here in the Havelock area. Graduating from Kalaheo High School in Hawaii guarantees that Hawaii will always be one of her favorite states, but she eventually made it back to Havelock.

She has raised 2 children and cared for many animals over the years. Karen loves working in the animal field and when asked what she loves the most about it states "she just loves animals and being able to speak and advocate for those who can not speak for themselves".
Allison W
Veterinary Assistant
Allison is originally from Biglerville Pennsylvania, but she couldn't wait to move to NC and be near the beach. Allison has been in the veterinary field for many years and jokes that if she gave you the number of years, you may question if there were truly veterinary assistants in the Stone Age.

Allison has enjoyed her 4 years with the staff at Craven Animal Hospital and now Felines First Veterinary Hospital and looks forward to several more. She is excited to be working in a Fear Free environment and has gained even more knowledge in the area of (you guessed it) cats! She has been made a believer in the techniques and environmental enrichment utilized here by watching cats transform from scared and feisty to calm and cooperating patients.

She only has one little negative thing to say about her transition to Felines First: "My pup Carina can't come visit me, but she is happy that 'Mom' loves her job!"
Caitlin P
Veterinary Assistant
Caitlin comes to us from Asheboro NC. She has worked in the veterinary field for 6 years, three of those have been spent at Craven Animal Hospital and now Felines First.
Caitlin has two sweet kitty boys named "Anubis" and "Leo". On her off time she enjoys traveling, kayaking, skiing, and singing. While she's here she enjoys successful venipuncture, placing intravenous catheters, and performing nail trims. Her favorite thing to do here? "Cuddling with your sweet fur babies and giving extra love and care."
Ashley S
Feline Caregiver
Ashley, a loving mother to her three children—Jacob, Nola, and Wyatt—is originally from New York. Prior to relocating to North Carolina to be nearer to her family, she spent most of her life in Pennsylvania.

In addition to providing superb care to our feline guests, she cares for own beloved cats: Loki, Lilith, and Kira.

Ashley's hobbies include baking, gardening, and trying her hand at various Pinterest crafts. She enjoys the simple pleasures of thunderstorms and the crisp fall air. She's also an active parent, often engaging in disc golf with her kids and traveling to explore new places near and far.
Ally M
Veterinary Assistant
Originally from Turners Falls, Massachusetts, Ally relocated to this area with her husband, who serves in the military. She has been in the veterinary field since 2018, beginning her career as a kennel assistant. After working as a receptionist, Ally found her calling as a veterinary assistant.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her son, Hunter, and her four dogs and one cat—Duke, Diesel, Hank, Ranger, and Thomas. Having grown up with cats, Ally has always had a deep affection for animals. She is passionate about expanding her knowledge of fear-free techniques to ensure that all cats visiting the clinic are as comfortable as can be.
Krystal T
Client Care Specialist
Born and raised in Eastern North Carolina, Krystal embodies the true spirit of a Carolina girl. Deeply family-oriented, she has been supported by her wonderful husband since 2013 and is a proud mother to three children: a special needs young adult and two cherished fur babies—a male Chow, Shepherd, Pit mix, and a female Black Lab mix. Krystal prioritizes the wellbeing of pets, dedicating herself to ensuring that each fur baby she cares for receives the utmost attention and care.
With years of experience in customer service and administrative roles, joining Felines First Veterinary Hospital was a natural fit for her career path. Krystal is an avid fan of country music and enjoys spending time at the beach, especially walking along the shoreline. Family time is precious to her, and she is committed to putting the needs of others first, always striving to give 100% in everything she does.
Olivia I
Feline Caregiver
Olivia, a local from right here in New Bern, enjoys spending time outdoors with her four dogs—May, Violet, Ash, and Darla. She also has a cat, Opal, who proudly reigns as the queen of the household.
From a young age, Olivia has loved caring for and nurturing animals, a passion that has only grown over time. She is enthusiastic about gaining new experiences and expanding her knowledge in the field.
